OK fool’s paper was developed by Peng Shigyo (formerly Kikuta Paper Store) and was the first fool’s paper in Japan. [Fool’s paper is a synonym for high-grade writing paper. In the Meiji era (1868-1912), high-grade writing paper was imported from England, and it was apparently watermarked with a [clown* clown hat]. It is named [OK] because it was made at Oji Paper’s Kokura Mill, but is now made at Nippon Paper Industries’ Yatsushiro Mill
