The 4th Ukiyo-e Ink is “Katsushika Hokusai”
A total of 8 colors are lined up based on the representative work “Thirty-six Views of Tomitake” by the ukiyo-e artist “Katsushika Hokusai”, who was active in the late Edo period. Katsushika Hokusai has also influenced overseas artists and is known worldwide as a representative of Japan. I felt that such “power to be loved across borders” was suitable for the coming era, so I chose Hokusai again as the theme of “Ukiyo-e Ink”.
The Thirty-Six Views of Tomigaku, which depicts nature and landscapes with bold compositions and vivid colors, use a wide range of blue and green, and colors such as indigo and red are skillfully used to make you feel the temperature of the air and the change in light. Among them, we select works with popular ink colors and high affinity.
