Decidedly an entry level Pelikan, the Twist is still a Pelikan, and writes quite smoothly. the twisted section, reminiscent of a Lamy Safari is comfortable in hand, and guides the hand to hold the pen appropriately for use (in theory), these sections are quite polarizing, one either loves them or hates them. That being said, the collection of a Flock is probably not complete without the addition of a Twist.
The Silver Twist on offer here has been retrofitted with a hard to come by Fine Nib, and includes the original Medium nib, one Pelikan short cartridge, and a pack of Vintage long cartridges in Pink. the cartridges are NOS, and as such are mostly evaporated, but can be emptied and refilled with your ink of choice. These five cartridges should last being refilled for some time, and Pelikan converters are available on line.
The Twist is reasonably thick, and comes in at 17mm diameter, so can be mailed with very little protection for $7, but that is a caveat emptor situation. Reasonable padding and protection would bring the package to over 2cm in thickness and therefore would require parcel post shipping, at $20, you can thank Canada Post, and the size of Canada for that. Best value would be to purchase this as an add on to orders already requiring parcel post shipping. (ie: Bottles of Ink)
